In our modern, networked world, information and communication technology (ICT) is considered one of the most important critical infrastructures for end users and industry. As such, ICT essentially relies on the availability of microelectronic components and systems that are both trustworthy to protect data and particularly efficient to keep the ever-increasing amounts of data manageable from an energy efficiency perspective.

The TRAICT (Trusted Resource Aware ICT) project is developing trustworthy and resource-efficient hardware and software components for modern 5G communication technology, a simulation framework for an energy-optimized and trustworthy edge cloud platform, and a sensor platform prototype for predictive maintenance and plant monitoring.

Fields of research

  • Security in distributed systems
  • RISC-V based platforms
  • Trustworthy and resource-efficient modules and components
  • Energy models and simulation platform
  • Hardware analysis methods and identity verification laboratory

An exemplary field of application is acoustic monitoring for traffic monitoring, machine, process or construction site monitoring, or protection of critical infrastructure.
